It seems like such a long time since we where back in Portmouth in January launching the start of this tour. I’ve had such a busy first few months of 2019 that I kind of forgot to write a little post about it. Avenue Q is one of my favourite shows to work on and never seems to get old. I was thrilled to be back in tech with all the old creative team, some cast old and some new faces too.
This years tour has been a real year of creatives looking at tweaking their designs. The 4th UK tour now has allowed us all to really look at perfecting the show with the little things. I’ve made a few changes this time which I’ve been very happy with. We’ve used the Allen & heath ME-1 personal monitoring system which has been great. I first specified this on Legally Blonde after using it on a few other smaller projects and the flexibility it offers out musicians really does help ensure they have the control of their ears.
I’ve also used some different amplifiers on the main PA system. Previously I’ve been a big fan of MC2 E series and XTA DP448 processors however more recently I’ve been getting great results from the Linea Research series of amps with DSP in. They are fantastic and work very well with the Martin speaker system on the show. The sound is incredibly transparent, and clear. The results and reviews of the show have been great. I’m really fortunate to have a fantastic team on the road looking after everything for me.
Hear is a few links below to the reviews of this week in Brighton. You can still catch the show until November as it travels the UK and Ireland. get in touch if you would like to come and see it as we have a company ticket rate in most venues.
